Q: Welcome to Speakbindas. Tell us since when blogging has been a part of your life? Was there any motive or inspiration as a backbone of it?

  • A: It all started sometime in August/September 2008 when I first created my wordpress.com blog. I was new to blogging and I didn’t how to go on with it, i started reading some tutorials on how to proceed. As time grew by I got to know that with a wordpress.com domain I would not able to make any theme changes or add plugins to my site. So to make things more clear I first tried my hands on a free domain and a free hosting account. Learnt a lot there and once I was sure on how to move further, I thought what I am good at and what should I concentrate writing on my blog. I have a craze for technology and due to my active presence in Tech based forums I thought why not nurture what I am good at. So it was decided that I am gonna start a Tech based blog. I researched on what domain to choose and after quite a while I decided on Tech Mania. That’s how Tech Mania was born. It was a new experience for me. A new platform for me to share what I was good at.

Q: What is your blog all about? Which topics you cover there? Is that you alone running/maintaining the blog, or have a team?

  • A: I mainly blog about the latest news and happenings in the field of Technology. I cover topics on happenings in Microsoft, Windows (Windows Vista and Windows Seven tips and tweaks), Apple news, Windows Mobile, Android, new buzz about PC Hardware and components, Gaming news, Open source Software and Gaming news and many more. I am the sole writer/admin for my blog.

Q.: How important is it for the blogger to interact with their readers? Do you respond to all the comments that you receive?

  • A: I have learnt that interacting with readers is a must for every blogger. It shows that you care about your readers. Every visitor who comes and steps by in a blog sees how well the post and gives a comment. If you interact with the visitor, this provides an opportunity to convert the visitor to an active reader and hopefully a frequent commenter. Engaging in comments and discussion makes the blog atmosphere a healthy place to share your personal views on how you feel. So the more you interact with your readers the more comments you get and more traffic too.

Q: What are the present statistics for your blog, i.e. number of daily visitors, visitors geographical status etc.?

  • A: I started off getting 300 odd per day then slowly picked up to 700 per day. Currently from past few months I get at least 1700-2000 visitors per day. Mostly my visitors are from India, US, UK, Netherlands, Italy.

Q: Is blogging for you just a passion or a medium for earning too? Does it help you to earn enough cash to quit a 9 to 5 day job?

  • A: For me blogging is a passion and I am totally addicted to it. For me time is not a concern. I keep pondering over on what should I write and how can I improve. That keeps me going on and on. Earning also plays a role but passion has an upper hand over earning. Would love to earn more than what I earn now. At present I would prefer to work in line with my blogging.

Q: Who are your favorite bloggers, whom you read frequently?

  • A: My favorite blogger’s are the ones from Mashable, Engadget, Gizmodo, Mydigitallife and Neowin. Indian bloggers I like Vishal Gupta, Taimur Azad , Harsh Agarwal , Honey Singh , Sandeep Dedhia .

Q: From the secret bucket of your blogging experiences, what tips you would like to share with the fellow bloggers?

  • A: You don’t start earning once you start your blog. It takes sheer patience, hard work and dedication to achieve reputation and fame at the long run. So give your best and share what you are good at.

Q: Do you believe that blogging completes you? If yes, tell us how?

  • A: Blogging has certainly made me more responsible and improved my time management, made me lose my habit of procrastination.

Q: What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?

  • A: When I first earned money from my blog. It was hardly 10$ but that moment I can never forget.

Q: Say, you are sponsored to travel to 3 world destinations, where you need not to worry about costs for food, hotel or anything. Which destinations would you pick up, and why? Would you like to take someone along with you? If yes, whom?

A: Love to travel with girlfriend 😉

  • Switzerland to look at the awesome places and scenic spots
  • Bangkok for a holiday
  • US to get all the geek stuff/gadgets

  • A: Life is changing so fast with the new trends and advancements in technology. It’s changing the way how things used to be in olden days with no gadgets as we have these days be it a Plasma TV or a Smartphone.

Q: What do you think of “blogging is the next BIG thing”?

  • A: Blogging is emerging as one of the core means of sharing knowledge. Newspapers have now transformed to E-Newsletters. The latest news I get updated from twitter and from social networking sites.

Q: Any special message you would like to share with your blog readers as well with everyone else?

  • A: If you are serious about blogging be sure to give your cent percent hard work, perseverance, and effort into it. Don’t be carried away by how much you can earn from blogging. I believe Knowledge is Power so the more you share the more you learn. So keep sharing and don’t worry about earning at the start. I wish all of you who are keen on blogging a great success.
