Hey guys I am Venky aka Venkat Adri. I was cut open from my mother’s womb I mean I was born on 31-08-1989 in Chennai. I am the guy who runs www.cricoholic.blogspot.com A wacky blog from a self proclaimed freak.

I divinely get up in the morning go to my computer and does computer namaskaram, then switches on my TV and does channel abhishekam, plays cricket and attends college in free time. I am months away from graduating B.com. However after that I can’t be calm because I have to pursue my Chartered Accountancy.

Q: Welcome to Speakbindas. Tell us since when blogging has been a part of your life? Was there any motive or inspiration as a backbone of it?

  • Ans.: To go by chronology I would say since February 2009, according to me it started from June 2009. Yep I am novice and I dont have any inspiration as such.

Q: What is your blog all about? Which topics you cover there? Is that you alone running/maintaining the blog, or have a team?

  • Ans.: My blog is all about getting out those thoughts locked in my think tank. My blog is potpourri with a dose of cricket, an ounce of society, one tablespoon of sarcasm, 2 pounds of Humor and lots of wacky write ups. I am a one man army.

Q.: How important is it for the blogger to interact with their readers? Do you respond to all the comments that you receive?

  • Ans.: A person spends his or her valuable time to read what you have written and gives their view, so you’ve got to respect that and then reply to them. Of course you have that typical nice post, happy blogging comments. I have a cheeky way of replying to it.

Q: What are the present statistics for your blog, i.e. number of daily visitors, visitors geographical status etc.?

  • Ans.: I dont consider myself an established blogger. My stats are puny compared to them. Till date I have 4000 odd total visitors and25 visitors a day and they mostly are from Mera Bharat Mahan aka India. My Google page rank is 1

Q: Is blogging for you just a passion or a medium for earning too? Does it help you to earn enough cash to quit a 9 to 5 day job?

  • Ans.: For me blogging is just a passion to express myself and my desire to write wacky stuff and get reactions from people I wouldn’t have met otherwise

Q: Who are your favorite bloggers, whom you read frequently?

  • Ans.: My favorite Bloggers are many; Doing Jalsa Showing Jilpa and Bret Geeves Blog for Tasmania cricket are jewels in the crown of my blog list. All other blogs I read are in my blog list which spans up to 25 odd blogs.

Q: From the secret bucket of your blogging experiences, what tips you would like to share with the fellow bloggers?

  • Ans.: I am just a baby as far as blogging is concerned but in real life i am a big unit a really big one. I would like to say go off the beaten track and keep it as innovative as possible.

Q: Do you believe that blogging completes you? If yes, tell us how?

  • Ans.: Yes blogging completes me. The friends I have earned through this blog of mine stretches far and wide. It will always have a special place in my heart.

Q: What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?

  • Ans.: Those moments keep on changing with the times. It was my visitor when I started my blog. It was Blogadda pick when I revamped my blog and now this interview.

Q: Say, you are sponsored to travel to 3 world destinations, where you need not to worry about costs for food, hotel or anything. Which destinations would you pick up, and why? Would you like to take someone along with you? If yes, whom?

  • Ans.: I’ve told this even in my blog that my idea of holiday is limited to that trip to my grandma’s place and my aunt’s place. Since you ask they would be
  • Mars- :p hehehe I wouldn’t pick anyone just me i dont want to risk anyone’s life.
  • Kailash Mountains – With my family
  • Malaysia- With my friends

Q: Are you into watching movies? If yes, which fills your list of favorite ones?

  • Ans.: Yep I watch a lot of movies especially Hindi and Tamil. My favourite movies are Anbe Sivam, Swades, Rang De Basanti, Delhi 6, Mangal Pandey, Vasool Raja, Saroja, Chennai 28, Pasanga, Kaminey and Unnai Pol Oruvan to name a few :p (yeah it is few)

Q: How has blogging helped you other than money?

  • Ans.: It has helped me to find a lot of friendsI wouldn’t have been friends with and certainly made me that tad bit social. Now won’t believe me if i say “I am an Introvert”

Q: What would be the one thing you’d change about yourself?

  • Ans.: At times I am over critical of others and myself, I would like to change that.

Q: What is your deepest fear?

  • Ans.: My Deepest fear is not getting a job and turn into a beggar or to have everything sans the black thing called hair on my head: D

Q: If you could meet one person, dead or alive, who would it be?

  • Ans.: I would like to meet Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi

Q: Which is your favorite television show? Favorite songs?

  • Ans.: My favorite television shows (yes i added an s to show: D) are Friends, Desperate Housewives, Man vs. Wild and every other program on Discovery, Nat geo and Animal Planet.
  • My favorite songs right now are I’ll be there for you from FRIENDS, Pocket mein rocket from Rocket Singh and Aal Izz well from 3 Idiots.

Q: How much money do you have in your purse/wallet right now (including change)?

  • Ans.: To be honest I dont have a purse I keep my money in my pocket. “Dad! Give me your salary so I will keep it in my pocket and return it to you, no wastages and other charges” just kidding i have Rs 1000 to the power Zero. Do the calculation yourself. :p (If you are not good at math then the answer is anything to the power of zero is one)

Q: What is your favorite food? Any particular dislikes?

  • Ans.: I like all vegetarian foods especially North Indian. I am the least fussy eater you would ever find, i can eat at any shop. My Favorite dishes are Mirchi Bajji, Vada Pav and Kachori.

Q: What’s your take on the technological advancement these days? Does it make people’s life simple or complicated?

  • Ans.: Only thing that doesn’t change is the change itself. Technological advancement has certainly made life simpler and of course neared the Doomsday to 2012 🙂

Q: What do you think of “blogging is the next BIG thing”?

  • Ans.: I think the saying paints a fairly true picture on how people and particularly i am thinking.

Q: Any special message you would like to share with your blog readers as well with everyone else?

  • Ans.: Live your life your way. Past is History, upholstery is costly, Future is mystery, I dont no chemistry and present is a present keep it and enjoy it. I don’t know why I just said that. : D
