Interview

Q1: Welcome to Speakbindas. Tell us since when blogging has been a part of your life? Was there any motive or inspiration as a backbone of it?

A1: I’ve been blogging for more than 4 years now. Started off as a past time first when I was working on a 9-5 job as SEO to a UK based MNC. But when I saw some traction on the blog and started picking up freelance consulting, I took it seriously and started doing it full time later.

Q2: What is your blog all about? Which topics you cover there? Is that you alone running/maintaining the blog, or have a team?

A2: My blog is all about SEO, Social Media and Online Marketing. It’s just me working on the blog now.

Q3: What are the present statistics for your blog, i.e. number of daily visitors, visitors geographical status etc.?

A3: It has an Alexa rank of less than 16k as of now, monthly unique visitors of more than 60k, and most visitors are from the US.

Q4: Is blogging for you just a passion or a medium for earning too? Does it help you to earn enough cash to quit a 9 to 5 day job?

A4: Yes it does. I quit my day job 3+ years earlier.

Q5: Who are your favorite bloggers, whom you read frequently?

A5: I read probably a dozen of them daily, like Problogger.net, Tech Crunch, Read Write Web etc.

Q6: From the secret bucket of your blogging experiences, what tips you would like to share with the fellow bloggers?

A6: Keep it simple and useful. Be original and be consistent, also don’t forget to add your style to it.

Q7: Do you believe that blogging completes you? If yes, tell us how?

A7: It’s my profession now.

Q8: What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?

A8: Happiest when I made my first $1000 on PayPal, three years back. Gloomiest – I don’t really know.

Q9: Say, you are sponsored to travel to 3 world destinations, where you need not to worry about costs for food, hotel or anything. Which destinations would you pick up, and why? Would you like to take someone along with you? If yes, whom?

A9: To Disney land, with my family.

Q10: Are you into watching movies? If yes, which fills your list of favorite ones?

A10: The bucket list, Seven Pounds, The Sixth Sense, Gran Torino are some of my favorite movies.

Q11: How has blogging helped you other than money?

A11: Helped me make a lot of friends online.

Q12: What would be the one thing you’d change about yourself?

A12: Procrastination.

Q13: What is your deepest fear?

A13: Having nothing to do.

Q14: If you could meet one person, dead or alive, who would it be?

A14: Not one a couple of them. A private conversation with Matt Mullenweg, Matt Cutts, Rand Fishkin and Guy Kawasaki would be awesome.

Q15: Which is your favorite television show? Favorite songs?

A15: I don’t watch much TV, but CSI is a nice one.

Q16: How much money do you have in your purse/wallet right now (including change)?

A16: None ๐Ÿ˜€

Q17: What is your favorite food? Any particular dislikes?

A17: Nothing in particular and no dislikes, I like spicy stuff, drinks like grappo and lot of snacks.

Q18: What’s your take on the technological advancement these days? Does it make people’s life simple or complicated?

A18: Complicated first, easier later. It’s a process that’s always been there for mankind, I guess someone would have asked the same question to the guy who made wheel, back then, because a wheel must have been a “complicated” thing at that period of time.

Q19: List out the 10 bloggers you believe should be interviewed by Speakbindas.com.

A19: I think you should interview all the top bloggers from India. They are awesome.

Q20: Any special message you would like to share with your blog readers as well with everyone else?

A20: Be passionate about what you do. Keep blogging ๐Ÿ™‚

Mani is one of the coolest guys you can find in the blogosphere. Aside from his intense knowledge and charisma, he is also extremely helpful. He’s willing to go that extra mile to help out, and you don’t find that often these days, least of all from people with such a hectic schedule.

He has been the main guy to help me get my blog up and running. He’s helped me out in various ways – design, function, tips, optimization, what not. Mani’s da man.
