Interview of Gillian Westwater – GSE team member from Scotland

Video Interview of Gillian Westwater

Rotary Foundation has an exchange program called Group Study Exchange, which is a one month long cultural & vocational exchange program, comprising of four team members who are from different professions and one team leader who is a Rotarian. Readers of my blog are aware that in the year 2012 I was selected for this program and went to Scotland for one month. You can refer all posts related to my experience at: GSE Scotland.

This year, a team from Scotland (Rotary District 1230) is on visit to India (Rotary District 3060). In this video interview, I have interviewed one of the team members Gillian Westwater, who by profession is a Social Worker.

In this interview, she talks about her experiences of staying with host families, her experiences of earlier trip to India, her vocational visits etc.

    Abrupt ending… editing issue?

Gillian is pretty! Sorry Devang, didn’t have a chance to see you 😉

    1. Yes. The story behind abrupt ending goes this way:
I was to interview entire GSE team from Scotland which consists of total of four members – Danny Chundoo, Michelle Kay, Gillian Westwater & Lynsey Russell. I started with interview of Gillian Westwater first. It went quite well. But then, camera fell down (you see, I don’t have a cameraman ever!), as it was put on a table with a small tripod. So the interview minutes you’re seeing here are of before the event occurred. We didn’t even realize for more few minutes that camera had stopped recording, and we kept on discussing!! I felt very embraced as the further discussion with her was really interesting, which unfortunately couldn’t be recorded.

So to say, then I couldn’t even interview other members.

They will be in Rajkot for three days. Let’s see if I get a chance to interview other members too.

P.S.: You had come to India, Jigar? I don’t know when!!

Tough luck with the camera issue, although, the interview was good and covered key points.

Yes, Devang, i did visit India for a short period of time and the first thing i told my family was that “I have to go visit Devang Vibhakar”. I had a lot to talk to you about. Unfortunatly, there was a tragedy in my family (my grandpa passed away) and so things did not go as per the plan. Trust me, I do regret missing out on a much awaited meeting with you but I’m not giving up on it. I visit India often and next time is not far away!

        1. Oh! please accept my condolences for the same.
