My Selection For An Exchange Program to Germany

There is a saying that what happens once, happens again too! This has been true in my case in terms of getting selected for cultural exchange programs! Last year in 2012 I went to Scotland as part of Rotary Foundations’ Group Study Exchange program. This year, during the same time I am going to Germany for another exchange program.

This time, it is a cultural exchange program of volunteers of AFS organization. It is called India-Germany volunteer exchange program. Part of this program total of 13 AFS volunteers from India are going to Germany. Similarly, volunteers from AFS Germany will visit India in coming months. Part of this program, volunteers do study the culture of other country and prepare a Guideline booklet that would be helpful to students participating in exchange programs in India and Germany in coming years. This program is sponsored by Robert Bosch Stiftung Foundation.

So, I am selected as one of the thirteen AFS volunteers from India. I will be visiting Germany from September 21, 2013 to October 6, 2013. I will be staying with host families there to learn about the family structure. Also, will visit schools to learn about their educational system.

I will be updating on this via SpeakBindas further, but for now the objective is to announce my selection for this program.

P.S.: I’m volunteering with AFS for Rajkot chapter for last three hosting cycles. To know more about AFS and its programs, do visit http://www.afs.org & http://www.afs.org.in (INDIA).
