If you are an applicant for the JEE Main 2020 exam for the April Session, then you must be aware of its delay. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 is postponed now. As per NTA, you can expect the exam to happen tentatively in the last week of May. Honourable Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi has extended the lockdown till 3rd May. Under such circumstances, it may take time to decide the exact dates of the exam.

However, the application process for JEE Main 2020 concluded successfully, starting from 7th February to 12th March. Some of the important dates for JEE Main 2020 April Exam are as follows:

  • Start of JEE Main 2020 Registration – 7th February.
  • Registration Deadline – 12th March till 5 pm.
  • Application fee Deadline – 12th March till 11.50 pm.
  • JEE Main 2020 Form Correction – 1st April to 3rd May.
  • JEE Main 2020 Admit Card – Tentatively after 3rd May
  • JEE Main 2020 Exam – Last week of May (Tentative).

Application Form Correction for the April Exam of JEE Main 2020

NTA has allowed applicants to correct their particulars like exam center city on the online application form. The authorities re-opens the application form correction for the April Exam 2020 of Jee Main on 1st April and extended the deadline till the second lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak. This facility is provided, keeping in mind the hardships that applicants may face during this outbreak. You must carefully make the changes as no further change will be possible.

You may have to pay specific fees (if any) based on your changes. Only post-payment those changes will reflect on your profile. Along with this, there is also a link for image correction on the official portal – jeemain.nta.nic.in.

JEE MAIN 2020 – Updates on Application Form Correction for April Exam

  • The JEE Main 2020 application form correction is open till the second lockdown i.e., 3rd May.
  • JEE MAIN 2020 April admit card is likely to get postponed till 3rd May.
  • The exam is so far scheduled in the last week of May, but it is tentative. So, do visit the official website regularly.
  • NTA has also allowed applicants to change their test center city due to the COVID-19 outbreak situation.
  • Applicants can make corrections up to 5.00 pm, and fee submission can happen up to 11.50 pm.
  • Registered candidates must verify their particulars as no further changes can be made.
  • The changes will reflect on your profile only post payment of any additional fee required for making the changes.
  • You can pay the required amount (if applicable) using Credit or Debit Card or Net Banking.
  • Correction is also possible in the category section of the form.

Important Dates for JEE Main 2020 Application Form Correction

The following are the critical dates for correcting the exam application form of JEE Main 2020 April:

  • JEE Main 2020 form correction start date – 1st April.
  • JEE Main 2020 form correction last date – Extended till 3rd May (Second Lockdown).

JEE Main 2020: Types of correction that can be done

NTA has allowed applicants to change specific details in the April exam application form of JEE Main 2020, these are:

  • Name of the Candidates (as per class 10th mark-sheet).
  • You can change the Paper, Which means a change from Paper 1 to Paper 2 and vice versa. You can add or remove Paper.
  • You Date of Birth (as per class 10th mark-sheet).
  • The Communication Address.
  • Your current Contact Number.
  • You can change your Photograph and Signature.
  • Finally, you can also change the JEE Main test center city.

Steps to correct JEE Main 2020 Application Form

Applicants often make errors while filling the application form, keeping this in mind NTA has incorporated this facility. Also, due to the hardships faced on the outbreak of COVID-19, authorities have extended the window for correction further. Mentioned below are the steps to complete your correction process:

Step 1: Log on to the official website of JEE Main 2020 which is jeemain.nta.nic.in

Step 2: Now, click on the ’Application Form Correction Link’ of JEE Main 2020 April.

Step 3: You will have to provide your Application Number, Password, and Security Pin to login.

Step 4: A window will open with 2 tabs ‘Manage Application Form Submission’ and ‘Manage Form Particulars Correction.’

Step 5: Click on ‘Manage Form Particulars Correction’ and move ahead to the instructions page.

Step 6: Read the instructions and move to the JEE Main 2020 Correction Form.

Step 7: You can now edit the information and pay any applicable fees.

Step 8: Now, submit the form.

Step 9: To re-check the form status, you must enter your application number and password, and click on the ‘Status’ tab. Your application form status will appear on your screen.

JEE Main 2020: Remove Image discrepancy

To change your photo in case of any discrepancy, you can follow the steps below:

  • First, visit the official website.
  • Now, click on the link – ‘Remove Image Discrepancy’.
  • You can now login to the application form page with application number and password, and change the photo as per specifications.
  • Now, hit the submit button. Your changed photo will be submitted successfully.

With the break of the COVID-19 in such a rapid way, the dates of most exams are now unconfirmed. The same is the case with JEE Main 2020. Officials are providing tentative dates, but you can not be sure till an official announcement.  So far, due to the second lockdown, the Application Form Correction is extended further, which is likely to push the Admit Card and Exam dates as well.

But there is nothing to worry about, as the JEE Main 2020 exam will inevitably happen, and this delay also allows you to prepare further. Also, you must visit the official portal regularly, not to miss any vital information.
