Best Guide to Reach Rishikesh for Adventure and Yoga

Rishikesh is the holiest town in Uttarakhand, India known for adventure activities and yoga training. Tens of thousands of foreigners plan their travel to the yoga capital of the world but often struggle to gather all the information to plan the trip. That’s why Spiritual Punditz took up the task to create a detailed guide to visit Rishikesh.

Here are the best mediums to visit Rishikesh this travel and yoga season:

Take a flight: If you are visiting India from a faraway place, then, there will be no dearth of flights to Indira Gandhi International Airport. Dehradun, the capital city of Uttarakhand, also has an airport but it is not as widely used. Rishikesh from Dehradun is around 20kms and takes around 45 minutes. Want to ditch the road and continue flying? Book a flight to Dehradun.

Hop on a bus:  A lot of foreign tourists prefer hitting the road up to Rishikesh. The distance from Delhi to Rishikesh is around 250 kilometres which will take around 6 hours in a bus. There are private as well as state run buses that leave the Maharana Pratap Inter-state Bus Terminus, Delhi every half an hour or so. You can also book an AC bus online through RedBus

Hail a taxi: Though buses save money, they usually take more time to reach Rishikesh. If you can’t wait to reach Rishikesh, then, booking a private taxi is a good option. There are many taxi hailing services in India that have started catering to long distance riders. Ola is a safe option to go while traveling to Rishikesh.

Rent a bike – If you are not traveling to Rishikesh for yoga training, renting a bike can be a great option to explore the road and explore nearby regions as well. There are many bike rental service providers in Delhi and even in Rishikesh that can give you the liberty to travel the way you want. However, make sure you compare prices to ensure the best deal.

Book a train – Exploring India through rails is an altogether different experience. Shatabadi Express, Jan Shatabdi, AC Special Express and Mussoorie Express are some of the trains that can take you to Haridwar which is the nearest station from Rishikesh (around 25 Kilometres). To ensure personal and luggage safety, make sure you are traveling in AC compartment. In case you want to travel super cheap.

Rishikesh can be hot in summers and decently cold in the winters. So, don’t forget to check the climate before making your bookings. Traveling to Rishikesh for yoga for 200 hour YTT certification and want the best price? Drop an email at info@spiritualpunditz.com
