Shiv-Ling is a form of Lord Shiva. People worship Lord Shiva in this form. The month of Shravan (generally comes around August) is known as the month of Lord Shiva. During this month, all temples of Lord Shiva are full of their worshipers. They decorate temple & offer prayers.
