About Chandubhai Virani

His entrepreneurial journey is full of struggles and few initial failures. He started with selling hand-made wafers and sandwich in a local theatre in Rajkot. And today he owns a firm called “Balaji Wafers” whose yearly turnover is 400 crores, which comes as more than 1 crore per day.

Being a devotee of God Balaji (Hanuman), his faith took him to top. Highly goal oriented and positive attitude are the gems of his personality. By heart, a very down to earth person.

In this interview he shares his initial struggle and lessons. Also he shares interesting tips of entrepreneurs.

    By the way he is down to earth person, very cool, frank ,and having very good (desi type) qualities.

    Tame emne jyare pu6yu ke tamne koi jini jini vastu nu mansik tension aave ke nai.., tyare emne na kahyu pan e pa6ad na que. ma emne mixed rite kahyu … ke product sari na bane/ product na bane tyare tension aave.

    Actually he spoke too frankly as if he is talking with a close friend not at all like interview. Only last wn u said to give msg.. he came forward to camera and gave interview-like.

    U also took interview very nicely. nice necessary ques too. But I feel that ek imp que. rahi gyo ( kadach me mark na karyu em pan bane) ke….. ” y u selected to make wafers ?, why not other eatables like tht…..”

    1. True, I haven’t asked that question.

      But he already mentioned that, as a theater opened in Rajkot they took the opportunity to run the canteen where they made wafers.

      So that initial step inspired them to go further with producing wafers at large scale.

    Khakhra is very tasty n crunchy but some-portion is not properly roasted [border]. Our 2nd suggestion is to make small size [ 5″] n thin, b’case children do waste. You make another flavors also, like PANIPURI, MANCHURIAN , GARLIC,ONION etc. Please note our suggestion. Thanks.

    I’m an MBA student. On 14.11.2011 we had an Industrial Visit at Balaji company at Rajkot. After seeing the plant, we went to a hall, after sometime Shree Chandubhai Virani himself came to talk with us. He told about his struggling days. & his 1 sentence was very nice, ‘tamne tamari Mummy ni banaveli waffor bhavti nathi atle mare waffor banavanu chalu karvu padyu.’
    He is such a down to earth person. 1st time i saw that the owner of the company takes interest to talk with the visitors who have come from college.
    The interaction with him was really very awesome..
