Ignore criticism and be honest to your life: Deepak Acharya

Deepak Acharya

Deepak Acharya

Hi! I am Deepak Acharya. Many call me Dipu, while those close to heart call me Deep! I was born on May 1, 1978. Quite old, but young at heart. I am addicted to photography, cinema, music and sports. My camera is my wife. I am a dreamer too. A special dreamer in the world.

I dream that one day I was dancing with Catherine Deneuve, while one day I was discussing a movie script with screen icon Al Pacino. Sometime, I am giving tips to Barack Obama in White House, while flexing muscles with Mike Tyson at his home. And one day I am partying with Megan Fox in Ibiza. OMG ! Yes, this is my favourite word. Endless dream, but I am happy. Hang on! I am a self-proclaimed movie critic too!

Interview

Q: Welcome to Speakbindas. Tell us since when blogging has been a part of your life? Was there any motive or inspiration as a backbone of it?

  • A: I have been blogging since April 2008, thanks to Charu kartikeya (http://vrittant.blogspot.com/ & http://chaipe.blogspot.com/) And Priyanka Khot (http://delhiphotodairy.blogspot.com/ & http://priyankas-point.blogspot.com/). They explained me what exactly blogging was and how it was important in today’s world.

Q: What is your blog all about? Which topics you cover there? Is that you alone running/maintaining the blog, or have a team?

  • A: I am running a photo blog alone – http://exposemaximum.blogspot.com/ – which contains random images which I capture with my DSLR camera. I simply love to shoot, it may be a kid or a crow or a begger. If I do not shoot, I feel that something is wrong with me on that day.

Q.: How important is it for the blogger to interact with their readers? Do you respond to all the comments that you receive?

  • A: It is the duty of a blogger to interactive with his/her readers. I respect all my readers and try my best to respond to all the comments I receive. Besides, I hit more than 200 blogs everyday that includes fashion, sports, cinema, photography etc etc.

Q: What are the present statistics for your blog, i.e. number of daily visitors, visitors geographical status etc.?

  • A: I have no idea how many people hit my blog, but yes my blog is quite popular among my readers. I am not much more concerned about the number of daily visitors, instead I try to find out who hits my blog.

Q: Is blogging for you just a passion or a medium for earning too? Does it help you to earn enough cash to quit a 9 to 5 day job?

  • A: It is more than passion. My images are not striking, but yes they are enough to bring smiles on the face of my readers. To be honest, I do not know how to earn money through blogging.

Q: Who are your favorite bloggers, whom you read frequently?

  • A: It is quite difficult to answer still I liked to read the following bloggers’ blogs. They truly inspire me a lot in various forms. R. Ramesh (http://globalmadarasi.blogspot.com/), Priyanka Khot (http://delhiphotodairy.blogspot.com/ http://priyankas-point.blogspot.com/), Anya (http://anya-kareltje.blogspot.com/), JM (http://oeirasdailyphoto.blogspot.com/), Jeevan (http://jeevansworld.blogspot.com/) and Bhavesh (http://infobybvc.blogspot.com/).

Q: From the secret bucket of your blogging experiences, what tips you would like to share with the fellow bloggers?

  • A: Work selflessly and you will get reward in appropriate time.

Q: Do you believe that blogging completes you? If yes, tell us how?

  • A: No. But, whenever I see my images and comments on my blog, it makes me happy. Thanks to my readers.

Q: What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?

  • A: I am quite a forgettable person. I do not remember what was happiest and gloomiest moment of my life.

Q: Say, you are sponsored to travel to 3 world destinations, where you need not to worry about costs for food, hotel or anything. Which destinations would you pick up, and why? Would you like to take someone along with you? If yes, whom?

  • A: I would like travel to Halong Bay, Galapagos and Bora Bora ‘alone’. Why Halong Bay, because it is truly beautiful. I am desperate to visit this place. If I am wrong, hit this link, Halong Bay. And why Galapagos, because this is the place where Charls Darwin evolved his famous theory of evolution. It is the place where you can find a vast number of endemic species, and I want to touch them and click their pictures. Bora Bora, it is a funny name, but what a place ! The water so crystal clear, it will make you speechless. Here you go Bora Bora.

Q: Are you into watching movies? If yes, which fills your list of favorite ones?

  • A: Well…well…well…..My soul lies in Hollywood. Deepak Acharya = Movies. I can’t live without movies as a fish can’t live without water. I enjoy every kind of movie in the world. It may be Korean, or it may be Iranian. So, it is quite difficult for me to choose my favourite ones. Simply, the list is endless.

Q: How has blogging helped you other than money?

  • A: Thanks to blogging, I can proudly say that I am quite popular abroad. Blogging is truly a best medium to increase your popularity and connectivity.

Q: What would be the one thing you’d change about yourself?

  • A: I am happy with my present look. So, no change.

Q: What is your deepest fear?

  • A: Death

Q: If you could meet one person, dead or alive, who would it be?

  • A: Undoubtedly, Mahatma Gandhi. Should I say more?

Q: Which is your favorite television show? Favorite songs?

  • A: No favourite, but I enjoy each and every kind of show. It may be a cartoon show on Pogo or Undertaker’s demolition of CM Punk on Ten Sports. Favorite song: Hindi: ‘Mujhe Naulakha Manga De’ from ‘Sharabi,’ Favorite song: English: ‘Sweet Child ‘O Mine’ by ‘Guns N Roses’.

Q: How much money do you have in your purse/wallet right now (including change)?

  • A: Rs 172

Q: What is your favorite food? Any particular dislikes?

  • A: Fish curry with rice. And also prawn fry. Any particular dislikes? Well, I do not think I hate any dishes.

Q: What’s your take on the technological advancement these days? Does it make people’s life simple or complicated?

  • A: First of all, I am not a techno-savvy person. But, I would like to mention one thing here that technology has made human being idle. We are so much addicted to technology as such we can’t live without them. Technology affect human beings in both positive and negative ways.

Q: What do you think of “blogging is the next BIG thing”?

  • A: Nice question. Blogging has already become a BIG thing. I support what Priyanka said in her interview ‘Blogging has actually made the world a global village’. But, I am waiting to know what could be the replacement of blogging.

Q: Any special message you would like to share with your blog readers as well with everyone else?

  • A: Ignore criticism and be honest to your life. Do not think of yourself always. Think about others who help you in your life.
