Interview

Q: Welcome to Speakbindas. Tell us since when blogging has been a part of your life? Was there any motive or inspiration as a backbone of it?

  • Ans.: Thanks Devang for giving me an opportunity to share my thoughts and experiences with SpeakBindas readers.
  • I started blogging almost three years back. In early days, I used to surf lots of internet tech forums and webmaster forums to understand the technology world and that’s where I came to know about the potential blogging. I visited different niche blogs to research on blogging and found that it can become a great medium to share my knowledge with entire world.

Q: What is your blog all about? Which topics you cover there? Is that you alone running/maintaining the blog, or have a team?

  • Ans.: Tech Exclusive a dedicated technology blog. I write on various topics that are mainly based on Apple, Google, Microsoft, Mobile Phones, Tips and Tricks etc.
  • I don’t have any other support team to maintain the blog, but I do take help from my designer friends to solve my designing queries.

Q.: How important is it for the blogger to interact with their readers? Do you respond to all the comments that you receive?

  • Ans.: Interacting with your readers is one of the most important aspects of blogging. I always respond to the comments and I will also recommend other budding bloggers to build a good relationship with your readers by giving importance to their comments.

Q: What are the present statistics for your blog, i.e. number of daily visitors, visitors geographical status etc.?

  • Ans.: Tech Exclusive receives 5K+ hits from different parts of the world which includes USA, UK, Canada, India etc.

Q: Is blogging for you just a passion or a medium for earning too? Does it help you to earn enough cash to quit a 9 to 5 day job?

  • Ans.: Blogging is my ultimate passion and it’s becoming a medium for earnings too. I am a student so I don’t know whether I would have quit my daily job for blogging. Currently, I earn much more than any other normal software engineer guy.

Q: Who are your favorite bloggers, whom you read frequently?

  • Ans.: I don’t have any favorite blogger, but I do read some technology blogs. I can’t mention all the blogs here, but here are some of them –
  • Indian Blogs: Labnol, TechPP, TechnixUpdate, ToThePC
  • International Blogs: TechCrunch, TechieBuzz, SizzledCore, Sizlopedia

Q: From the secret bucket of your blogging experiences, what tips you would like to share with the fellow bloggers?

Ans.: There are many things I would like to share with newbie bloggers.

  • Blogging needs patience; you won’t become rich over the night.
  • Don’t blog for making money on the internet.
  • Invest your time on researching different topics rather than finding false techniques to rank your blog up in SERPs.
  • Don’t fall for internet marketing strategies like Social Media services, SEO services, make $$$ in an hour etc. Keep working hard on your blogging skills and try to drive more traffic through simple and effective strategies.
  • Stay away from so called internet gurus and blog experts.
  • Start writing your own content and create your own style. Don’t copy others.
  • Visitors is the real currency, respect them.

Q: Do you believe that blogging completes you? If yes, tell us how?

  • Ans.: I don’t know whether it completes me or my life, but it certainly is an important part of my never-ending learning process.

Q: What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?

  • Ans.: Umm…I think I am still waiting for the gloomiest moment in my life. I never get satisfied with my achievements and try to improve myself to achieve something bigger in life.

Q: Say, you are sponsored to travel to 3 world destinations, where you need not to worry about costs for food, hotel or anything. Which destinations would you pick up, and why? Would you like to take someone along with you? If yes, whom?

  • Ans.: Only 3 destinations? 😛
  • If I get a chance to travel any 3 destinations, I would like to visit Europe, Malaysia and Dubai. I love to experience different communities, religions and food. I’ll take someone with me who is as interested in visiting these places as me. 😉

Q: Are you into watching movies? If yes, which fills your list of favorite ones?

  • Ans.: Yes, I watch films and I prefer to watch Old Indian films. Some of my favorite movies-
  • Mera Naam Joker, Aradhana, Deewar and Guide.

Q: How has blogging helped you other than money?

  • Ans.: Blogging helps in expressing my views without any restrictions. I always see some spikes in blog traffic and it gives me a real message of life i.e. life is not stable, keep moving!

Q: What would be the one thing you’d change about yourself?

  • Ans.: Nothing, I like the way I am leading my life.

Q: What is your deepest fear?

  • Ans.: Satisfaction. If I ever get satisfied with something, I will not try to explore new things and live life like a lazy guy.

Q: If you could meet one person, dead or alive, who would it be?

  • Ans.: I want to meet Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Sergey Brin together. 😛

Q: Which is your favorite television show? Favorite songs?

  • Ans.: I don’t watch TV shows.
  • Favorites: I prefer listening to old Hindi songs and gazals.

Q: How much money do you have in your purse/wallet right now (including change)?

  • Ans.: INR 100

Q: What is your favorite food? Any particular dislikes?

  • Ans.: I’m a complete foodie and I treat myself with various cuisines.
  • My favorite food: Mamma’s home cooked food.

Q: What’s your take on the technological advancement these days? Does it make people’s life simple or complicated?

  • Ans.: Sometimes I think over today’s technology and its impact on our life. We always try to make life simpler and easier with latest technologies. One technology comes, makes life simple and then other comes to replace its faults and drawbacks. So, I think technological advancement is good, but we should not overuse it.

Q: What do you think of “blogging is the next BIG thing”?

  • Ans.: Blogging is the next BIG thing? Not sure because it’s one of the most hyped internet business models. Blogging has great potential to replace the mainstream media in today’s generation, but it highly depends on the way internet is progressing. A layman would never take it as a serious tool to get information or news. He will choose daily newspaper or television shows over blogs to get information and entertainment.

Q: Any special message you would like to share with your blog readers as well with everyone else?

  • Ans.: I have seen many people started blogs on ‘technology’ niche just because their friends have popular blogs on the same topic. Following your friends is a good thing, but don’t start a blog for fame and money. Create your own identity in blogosphere and respect other bloggers too.
  • Work smart, success is yours!
