Blogging has definitely groomed me in many areas: Kiran Tarun

Hi! I am Kiran, a blogger at http://kirantarun.com, a photographer at http://lens.kirantarun.com and a self-proclaimed eFashion Merchandiser at http://shop.kirantarun.com. I know, it’s just too much! But not enough of work for me, a SAHW (Stay at Home Wife) when I thoroughly enjoy writing and reading opinions in the blogosphere. Hubby and I are currently living in Orlando – Florida, just a few miles away from Walt Disney World. Don’t fret; we’ve not been to Disney!

My hobbies are usually enjoying “free” daily Disney fireworks from my balcony, swooning just at the thought of shoes and handbag shopping spree, and I love baking muffins.

Interview

Q: Welcome to Speakbindas. Tell us since when blogging has been a part of your life? Was there any motive or inspiration as a backbone of it?

  • A: Thank you for the interview. Blogging has been a part of my life since late 2007. Being out of my professional life gave me a whole lot of time to spare, which eventually encouraged me to begin blogging at http://kirantarun.com.

Q: What is your blog all about? Which topics you cover there? Is that you alone running/maintaining the blog, or have a team?

  • A: My blog is all about me, my hubby, our family and friends. It’s a daily blog of our personal ranting. It is not centered to only certain topics. I’ve covered topics ranging from personal to travel, politics, fashion, photography, food, etc. It’s a whole load of blog; with a whole load of goodness. I am currently maintaining my blog on my own.

Q: How important is it for the blogger to interact with their readers? Do you respond to all the comments that you receive?

  • A: Personally, interactions with readers are essential in order to gauge my blogging skills and their readability or interest in the topics covered here on http://kirantarun.com. I do respond to all comments received. It’s like receiving gifts on the most unexpected days in your life.

Q: What are the present statistics for your blog, i.e. number of daily visitors, visitors geographical status etc.?

  • A: Since I’ve recently opted for self-hosting (about 3 months ago), http://kirantarun.com welcomes 150 daily visitors, majorly from USA.

Q: Is blogging for you just a passion or a medium for earning too? Does it help you to earn enough cash to quit a 9 to 5 day job?

  • A: It started out as a passion, and remains. Currently, I am earning some change by blogging. Change is definitely NOT enough cash to quit a 9 to 5 job. Even if I were to work from 9 to 5.

Q: Who are your favorite bloggers, whom you read frequently?

  • A: I have so many. There is Nita from India, ThePioneerWoman from USA, Meena from Malaysia, Priyank from Canada, Karen from Australia and many more. It’s a joy to read and meet so many talented writers out there.

Q: From the secret bucket of your blogging experiences, what tips you would like to share with the fellow bloggers?

  • A: Secret? Hmm… I am waiting for one myself. Any clue?

SpeakBindas: Well, you can surf through interviews of fellow bloggers, and I am sure, you will find something interesting tip for sure!

  • A: Happiest moment in my life is being a member of my family. Gloomiest moment in my life is when I had to leave them to begin my new life – a happily married life.

Q: Say, you are sponsored to travel to 3 world destinations, where you need not to worry about costs for food, hotel or anything. Which destinations would you pick up, and why? Would you like to take someone along with you? If yes, whom?

  • A: (1) Malaysia, my homeland (2) India, my hubby’s homeland (3) Bali, for it’s breath-taking beaches and scenery’s. Of course, I would take my hubby along with me! Duh!
