Interview
Q1: Welcome to Speakbindas. Tell us since when blogging has been a part of your life? Was there any motive or inspiration as a backbone of it?
A1: I started blogging in 2004 before that I used to have simple pages on yahoo 360 and opera. My first blog was http://honeytech.wordpress.com and I got inspired when it listed into top 50 blogs of wordpress.com. Later I realised that I need to improve so many things related to copyrighted and licensed works so I switched into honeytechblog.com.
Q2: What is your blog all about? Which topics you cover there? Is that you alone running/maintaining the blog, or have a team?
A2: Honeytechblog try to avoid the contents which are already posted on 100 different places i.e no more information overflow. Primarily I research on the WordPress platform, Blogging, Designing , Social Media , Open Source and different stuff that I use to do in daily life of mediaredefined (MR). I spend most of my time with my MR team members ( Gaurav Mishra , Praval Singh,Dhiraj pandey , Harshit and Ginni) where we do lot of research in social media strategies, custom tools , campaigns and development for clients. I usually surrounded with so many technologies, new stuff that we prepared for clients & self-usage but I never blogged more than 10% of what I used to do at office. Posts like “How to do things that saves time” , Top resources , Top 10 tips and “Mistakes To learn From” are my favourite titles of blogging.
Q3: What are the present statistics for your blog, i.e. number of daily visitors, visitors geographical status etc.?
A3: Honeytech blog have around 4-6k of daily uniques which have more than 10k daily hits. About 50% of users are from India and rest from them are from United States, United Kingdom,Bangladesh,Pakistan,Iran,Indonesia,Canada,Netherlands,Australia,Italy,Turkey,Brazil,Germany and China.
Q4: Is blogging for you just a passion or a medium for earning too? Does it help you to earn enough cash to quit a 9 to 5 day job?
A4: I blog just for my passion and earning are the by-product of my hobby. Though I get handsome amount like any other pro blogger but I would prefer for researching and working in my own startup i.e Mediaredefined.
Q5: Who are your favorite bloggers, whom you read frequently?
A5: I frequently read smashingmagazine, gigaom , doshdosh and other traditional blog like techcruch, mashable & others. Most of the time I prefer to read new stuff searched via google.
Q6/Q21: From the secret bucket of your blogging experiences, what tips you would like to share with the fellow bloggers?
A6:Blogging is not for the information overflow.
- For the content from other sources and the images used from another source, always give full reference with an hyperlink.
- “When we copy a content from single source then it is termed as plagiarisms but when we copy the content from several different sources then it is termed as research. I would prefer to follow later”.
- Please try to avoid the negative reviews and Internet news that are already overflown on the Internet.
- Image can speaks the thousand words so always try to include any screenshots/ images within your articles.
Q7: Do you believe that blogging completes you? If yes, tell us how?

1. The day when friends informed me about my snaps in news paper. – College Days
2. For the first time blog listed into wordpress top blogs of the day. – College Days
3. Every time when I chillax in the office – Mediaredefined Life
Q9: Say, you are sponsored to travel to 3 world destinations, where you need not to worry about costs for food, hotel or anything. Which destinations would you pick up, and why? Would you like to take someone along with you? If yes, whom?

Wow! I want to tell something more about this guy who was my classmate in a college. He can’t live without his laptop and internet, absolutely tech savvy. He is also passionate for his mobile phone. The best thing about him is that he provide his helping hand to his friends in his busy schedule too. He helped me a lot in my blogging career and I always follow all his suggestions regarding post quality and other techniques. One day I want to see him as a leading web designer of the world. As he is working very hard to make it possible. All the best for future.
