Random Thoughts in Gujarati By Devang Vibhakar

Sometimes your mind wanders directionless and you get a bunch of thoughts randomly which at the moment look simply out of the control, and it goes on and on. I had encountered with one such moment with myself and result is below stuff. I have written it in my mother-tongue for I can relate with myself with deep meaning in this language only. So sorry for all friends who can not read or understand it, and translating it would lose its real meaning & charm(!), so this post is for Gujarati friends. And do share your random-comment too after reading 🙂

Random thoughts. This title is unreadble or not understandable by many Gujaraties. “અવ્યવસ્થિત વિચારો” would be more suitable for a Gujarati title. Or choose
There is an insane trend in India to use English words in local characters. We have a rich vocabulary and Sanskrit to fall back on, yet people hang on to their colonial heritage.
If people like me in the diaspora (પરદેસી ગુજરાતીઓ) get upset with the excessive use of English words, I am sure a lot of local Gujaraties also would be upset too.
Devang, no offense meant to you personally.

અંગ્રેજી શબ્દો લખવા પાછળ કોઇને ઇમ્પ્રેસ કરવા કે આપે જેમ લખ્યુ છે કે “yet people hang on to their colonial heritage” એવુ કોઇ પ્રયોજન હોઇ જ ના શકે.

And I understand how you must be feeling reading some English words in a Gujarati article, for I have also interviewed Dr. Balwant Jani who does a good work in field of Gujarati Diasporic literature.

Keeping linguistic matter aside, I would also like to know how you felt about the article I have written 🙂

Order grows out of Chaos. Keep it up.
